In light of the threats posed at the Centre, the Federal government has begun accepting PTI members’ resignations.
Speaker National Assembly members National Assembly Ali Muhammad Khan (NA-22), Fasal Muhammad Khan (NA-24), Shaukat Ali (NA-31), Fakhr Zaman Khan (NA-45), Farrukh Habib (NA-108), Ejaz Ahmad Shah (NA-118), Jameel Ahmad Khan (NA-237), Muhammad Akram Cheema (NA-239), Abdul Shakur Shad (NA-246), Dr. Mehr Ansa Shireen Mazari (Reserved Seat), Shandana Gulzar Khan ( (reserved seat) accepted the resignations.
Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has accepted the resignation of 11 members of PTI. Initially, the resignations of 11 members have been accepted, while more will be accepted.
It has been decided to accept PTI National Assembly members’ resignations in stages. On behalf of the Speaker, a letter will be sent to the Election Commission requesting de-notification.
According to sources, Speaker National Assembly consulted former Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and others before accepting the resignations. The consultation was attended by Khurshidshah, Ayazsadiq, and Saadrafiq.
After the parliamentary party meeting in April of this year, the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf announced their resignation from the National Assembly.
