After a long wait, PTI Leader Imran Khan finally announces that they will Long March towards Islamabad beginning from May 25. He has called this Long March the country’s “battle for freedom”.
Addressing the press conference in Peshawar, he said that their two main demands for the Long march are the dissolution of the National Assembly and also give date for General elections as soon as possible.
“I’d want to provide some context for how we arrived here. The US was involved in a foreign plot against Pakistan. They employed locals in this regime transition – the most corrupt people who were willing to join any scheme to defend their corruption.
“This conspiracy was conceived eight months earlier, and I was made aware of it in June; by August, I fully knew what was going on.” We tried all we could to thwart this plot, but we were unable to do so,” said Imran Khan while addressing the press conference.
While addressing his supporters, he announced that he will be meeting them at 3 pm at Srinagar Highway on May 25. He also invited women and children to be a part of this campaign.

“This isn’t politics; it is Jihad. If they (the government) attempted to prevent the long march, it would be unlawful, and we would take action if it occurred.”
He also gave away a message to the armed forces that now they should remain neutral just like they claimed. Instead he stated that he wants to invite everyone to the march, including government officials, army people and their families. He claimed that their Long march is not against Bureaucracy, police or army and is a peaceful protest.
Imran slammed the government’s economic management, claiming that the currency and stock market were rapidly declining, causing increased inflation.
He slammed the government saying that they have no planning, no roadmap and they can’t make any sorts of decisions as they are too afraid to do so. Their fear was visible as they ended up to seek the help of the National Security Council to set petroleum product pricing.
The Government totally didn’t like this announcement of long march. Information Minister Mariyam Aurangzeb says that decision of elections will be taken by the government as they have the authority. She said that if they (PTI) wanted elections, they should have held them during their tenure.

Vice president of PML-N also started to criticize Imran Khan saying that he always targets the country whenever it is going towards prosperity.
